Each SOLID member is required to participate in one of five committees for two years in order to build leadership skills and to stimulate personal/professional growth. After two years, veteran members switch to Alumni status and serve as mentors for new recruits.
The Communications Committee is responsible for facilitating ongoing communications for SOLID both internally, between SOLID members, and externally, between SOLID and the community. This committee is designed to not only keep members informed of SOLID events, but also to promote awareness of our organization to the general public and the press. Furthermore, the Communications Committee aims to ensure all members are informed of SOLID’s past accomplishments and future endeavors.
The Community Outreach Committee aims to provide members with the opportunity to take on civic responsibilities and offer a helping hand to the Nashville Community through philanthropic activities. This committee is focused on continuing to build SOLID’s relationship with the Nashville community through a series of outreach events.
The Education Committee strives to create programs of interest to everyone involved in SOLID. This committee’s goal is to create a forum for members to develop an overall knowledge of the music industry through panels and special events.
The Social Committee is designed to organize events throughout the year for SOLID members to gather and network as well as to emphasize the opportunities provided by other SOLID committees: Education, University Outreach, Community Outreach and Communication. The Social Committee is responsible for finding new and interesting ways to bring members together.
The University Outreach Committee was established with the intent to act as a liaison between universities nationwide and Nashville’s music community. Throughout the year, this committee organizes and provides opportunities such as mentoring and job shadowing programs to college level students. This committee is readily available to organize and participate in panel discussions, career fairs and other educational events to assist universities in educating the music industry’s next generation of leaders.
The Alumni committee is comprised of past SOLID members. This committee aims to bridge the gap between SOLID Alums and the current membership.
