Alicia Lanier Jones: SOLID Alumni Interview Series
And now we have five questions from SOLID member Matthew Phillip (Manager of Radio Relations at The Hot Seat, LLC) with alumnus Alicia Lanier Jones.
Matthew: What is your title/company?
Alicia: I am an Associate Manager at Dennis Entertainment
Matthew: What years were you in SOLID?
Alicia: I joined SOLID in 2002, then served on the board as the Social Chair for 2 years 2003-2004 and 2004-2005, then as the Alumni Board President (or whatever we called that position) in 2005-2006 and then I think I just sat on the Alumni Board for one more year. So all together 2002-2007??
Matthew: What is your favorite SOLID event/memory/story?
Alicia: I'd have to say Habitat builds that I helped with were so gratifying and fun. Turkey Bowls, which I helped organize for a couple of years were always great. I actually played on SOLID's Turkey Bowl team before I was a member and was hooked from then. And getting up at 5am to help set up for what then was the Leadership Music Yardsale. I'm not normally a morning person but those were so much fun to me. I think it was the people watching at CMA Music Fest (which will forever be Fan Fair to me).
Matthew: What is one piece of advice for current SOLID members?
Alicia: Be as active as you can. So many of my friends and acquaintances and even a job or two can be directly attributed to my time spent in SOLID.
Matthew: How has SOLID benefited you?
Alicia: Like I said about friends and jobs being attributed to my time in SOLID, I can safely say that I'm probably where I am today because of SOLID. I feel like I made so many great and important connections that led me to other great connections. If it weren't for SOLID, I think some of those relationships might have been made but not nearly as quickly. I have such a great network that I am so grateful for and feel like SOLID was a big part of building that
