Nashville's Top 30 Under 30 Honored

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Middle Tennessee held its third annual “Nashville’s Top 30 Under 30” party on Saturday, Sept. 24. The event, presented by Grand Avenue Chauffeured Transportation, honored 30 of Nashville’s most impressive young professionals and philanthropists. It was held on the 21st floor of The Pinnacle at Symphony Center in downtown Nashville, Tenn.

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean was on-hand to praise the group of for-profit and nonprofit business professionals for their outstanding commitment to the community. The more than 400 attendees mixed, mingled and bid on silent and live auction items that would benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. At the end of the evening, the event had raised more than $55,000 for cystic fibrosis research. Honoree David Plyler of Agency for the Performing Arts was the top fundraiser for 2011, raising more than $6,575 for the cause.

Honorees and guests were treated to hors d’ouevres from Margaritaville and beverages provided by Ajax Turner and Horizon Wine and Spirits. Erica Shaffer, of Fox 17, was the emcee for the evening’s program.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Nashville, Tenn., is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing ways to control and cure cystic fibrosis, and improving the quality of life for the 30,000 children and adults living with the disease in the United States. Cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease, produces an unusually thick mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections. Cystic fibrosis, for which there is currently no cure, is the No. 1 life-shortening disease in children and young adults in the country.

David Plyler is a 2006 graduate of the College of Charleston. There, he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in business administration, and hospitality and tourism management. In the fall of 2006, Plyler became a licensed realtor in South Carolina and Florida.

David currently works as the agent assistant to Frank J. Wing at the Agency for the Performing Arts. APA is one of the leading talent, music and literary agencies in the world with offices in Beverly Hills, New York and Nashville. Plyler focuses on booking music acts along the west coast such as Travis Tritt, Restless Heart, Michael Bolton, Little Texas, Bo Bice, Blackberry Smoke, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Sublime, Wanda Jackson, and Aaron Parker.

Since 2009, he has been the creative director for Big Borassa Music in Nashville. In this role, Plyler pitches, organizes and manages the music catalogs for Brett Jones, Dallas Davidson and Joanna Smith. He also manages and promotes for a new country act, The Martin McDaniel Band.

Plyler keeps busy in a variety of other business endeavors as well. He is the director for "Rock the Dock", the largest annual party on Lake Murray in South Carolina. He is president of Pura Vida Management, which books and promotes bands for regional events around the Carolina's. He is also a bartender at Sunset Grill in Hillsboro Village on the weekends & holidays.

If that wasn't enough to keep David busy, he volunteers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation throughout the year. David has recently been giving the title of Co-Chairman for the "Country Beach Party" which raised right at $50,000.00 for CFF  back to back years. Also Plyler headed up the "Circle of Hope" class this past year with his good friend, Justin Levenson and he is actively involved in Wine & Swine and the 65 Roses event. In addition, David is Vice President of the Nashville College of Charleston alumni chapter and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Salkehatchie Summer Service, the Country Music Association, The Oasis Center, and is an active member in the Society Of Leaders In Development (SOLID).
