SOLID Mobilizes Music Row for Habitat for Humanity Build

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (August 30, 2011) -- The Society of Leaders in Development (SOLID) kicked off the Music Row Habitat for Humanity Build Saturday with 32 music industry volunteers lending their time and strength to construct a new home in a north Nashville community.

Volunteers arrived before sunrise to a barren concrete slab in Nashville’s Park Preserve community on Saturday morning for the first weekend of a new home build for a Habitat for Humanity neighborhood. When the volunteers dispersed from the construction site that afternoon, the frame of the house was erected with walls and trusses in place.

Prospective Habitat homeowner Edwin Lewis hammered in the first nail of his future home, working alongside SOLID’s volunteers to make his dream of homeownership a reality.

SOLID’s volunteers represented music industry companies across the spectrum including SESAC, Big Machine, Sony, and the Country Music Association.

SOLID is regularly involved with the Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity as part of its dedication to community service and outreach. To learn more about SOLID’s initiatives, visit solidnashville.com.
